OFFENCE TYPES
Of the 42,037 offences across all court levels, over three-quarters were classified to three ANZSOC Divisions: fraud and deception (46%); offences against justice procedures (27%); and abduction and harassment (8%) (Table 2.3).
The largest number of offences finalised in the Higher Courts related to fraud and deception (44%), followed by sexual assault and related offences (24%) and offences against justice procedures (13%) (Table 2.3).
For the Magistrates' Courts, fraud and deception (47%), offences against justice procedures (28%) and abduction and harassment (8%) were the most prevalent (Table 2.3).
For the Children's Court, the largest number of offences finalised related to abduction and harassment (51%), offences against justice procedures (16%) and fraud and deception (12%) (Table 2.3).
