CONSULTATION PROCESS


This paper outlines the process of producing experimental internal migration estimates and the proposed methods which could be used in its implementation.

Issues for consideration

ABS would welcome comments on any aspects of this discussion paper, but in particular would appreciate comments on:

• whether the methods are supported;
• any suggestions to help improve the suggested method; and
• any other aspects of the analysis presented.

Written submissions

Interested parties are invited to make submissions to the ABS in relation to the proposed internal migration methods and output.
Submissions should be made to the ABS by 3 February 2012.
Email provision of submissions is preferred. The ABS encourages organisations and individuals to make submissions in either PDF or Microsoft Word format. Submissions should be sent to regional.population@abs.gov.au (submissions should use the words "Regional Internal Migration submission" in the title of the email).

In addition, the ABS will be contacting key stakeholders to discuss issues identified in the paper.

The ABS will assess submissions prior to finalising the regional internal migration methods and proposing outputs.
