PRIVATE NEW CAPITAL EXPENDITURE
- Western Australia's private new capital expenditure, in seasonally adjusted chain volume terms, was 7.3 billion in the June quarter 2009, up 6.5% from the previous quarter. Nationally, private new capital expenditure rose by 3.3%.

- In seasonally adjusted terms, investments in buildings and structures increased by 7.4% and accounted for $5.3 billion of the $7.3 billion in private new capital expenditure in the June quarter 2009.
- Investment in equipment, plant and machinery increased to $2 billion (4.3%), in seasonally adjusted terms, over the same period.
- In the June quarter 2009, the mining industry continued to account for a significant proportion (71%) of all private new capital investment in Western Australia (original data).
- In original terms, new capital expenditure on mining was 11% higher,than in the previous quarter and 14% higher than in the same quarter of the previous year.
