Australian National Accounts: Tourism Satellite Account, 2009-10 (cat. no. 5249.0)

This publication presents estimates of the direct contribution of the tourism industry to the Australian economy for the years 1997-98 to 2009-10. The publication shows the contribution of tourism to major economic aggregates, such as GDP, as well as details by type of visitor, which products were purchased by tourists, and which industries supplied those products.
Experimental Estimates for the Manufacturing Industry, 2008-09 (cat. no. 8159.0)

This information paper contains experimental estimates for the Australian manufacturing industry for the 2008-09 reference period, using a combination of data from ABS surveys and data sourced from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). State estimates at the ANZSIC subdivision level are presented for wages and salaries, sales and service income, and employment.

Using data from the ABS Business Longitudinal Database (BLD), this study examines the association between the intensity of use of information and communications technology by businesses, and innovation. The types of innovation considered include product, process, organisational and marketing innovations.

Land Account: Great Barrier Reef Region, Experimental Estimates, 2011 (cat. no. 4609.0.55.001)

This release provides experimental estimates for a land account for the five Natural Resource Management regions that comprise the Great Barrier Reef catchments. The detailed land account integrates social, economic and environmental data with spatial location information and uses Google Earth images to present an exciting new way of viewing statistical data.

Contains details on the number and characteristics of people who participate in a range of sport and physical recreation activities. The data covers persons aged 15 years and over who participated in sport and physical recreation activities as players, competitors or persons who physically undertook an activity.
Apparent Consumption of Alcohol: Extended Time Series, 1944-45 to 2008-09 (cat. no. 4307.0.55.002)

This publication provides estimates of apparent consumption of alcoholic beverages, including beer, wine, spirits and ready to drink (pre-mixed) beverages. The per capita consumption data in this publication is based on the estimated resident population of Australia aged 15 years and over, and does not incorporate an estimate of the actual amount consumed or take into account factors such as waste and storage or cooking.
Reflecting a Nation: Stories from the 2011 Census, February 2011 (cat. no. 2071.0)

The article included in this release, 'One hundred years of working on the Census', focuses on the history of Census collectors and other workers since the first Census in 1911. It is the the first article in the online series Reflecting a Nation: Stories from the 2011 Census. Further articles will be released progressively and cover topics about the history of the Australian Census, contemporary society and the trends that affect the lives of Australian people. It begins with several historical articles being released in 2011, focussing on 100 years of the Census from 1911 to 2011. Analytical articles based on 2011 Census data will be released from June 2012.

Using data from the 2007-08 National Health Survey, this publication compares chronic disease, health risk factors, health professional consultations and health insurance between people with a profound or severe disability to those without a disability.
