LABOUR FORCE The number of males employed full-time in South Australia in May 2009 was 355,100 (in trend terms), a decrease from 356,000 in April 2009. The number of females employed full-time in South Australia increased from 185,600 in April 2009 to 187,200 in May 2009. UNEMPLOYMENT The trend estimate unemployment rate for South Australia remained steady in May 2009 at 5.6%. Australia's unemployment rate increased from 5.6% in April 2009 to 5.7% in May 2009. For South Australia, the trend unemployment rate for males increased slightly from 6.1% in April 2009 to 6.2% in May 2009. The trend unemployment rate for females in South Australia decreased slightly from 5.1% in April 2009 to 4.9% in May 2009.
