This represents an increase of 2.7% from September 2008 ($867m) and 16.1% from October 2007 ($766m). The value of Australian merchandise exports for October 2008 was $24,172m, a 76.6% increase from the previous year ($13,689m in October 2007). The value of South Australian merchandise imports increased to $696m in October 2008 from $640m in October 2007, an increase of 8.9%. The value of Australian merchandise imports for October 2008 was $21,906m, a 26.1% increase from October 2007 ($17,378m).
