- Average weekly ordinary time earnings for full-time adults rose 1.8% in trend terms and 2.0% in seasonally adjusted terms in the November quarter 2009, while the annual increase was identical (7.2%) for the two series.
- The average total weekly earnings for all employees rose 1.7% (seasonally adjusted) and 1.3% (trend) in the November quarter.
- For November 2008 to November 2009, the average total weekly earnings for all employees increased 5.3% in both seasonally adjusted and trend terms.
- In original terms, average weekly total earnings for full-time adults have been higher for private sector than public sector workers since the May quarter 2006, a reversal of the previous 10 years when public sector earnings were consistently higher than private sector earnings. However, after the difference in sector earnings reached a peak of $138 per week in the February quarter 2008, the gap has since closed, with the difference only $13 per week as of the November quarter 2009.
