Livestock
Queensland agriculture supports a broad range of livestock-based production; the state is the major producer of meat cattle in Australia and has the biggest pig herd having recently overtaken New South Wales. The main sheep belt is a broad strip running through the centre of Queensland, extending north-west from the New South Wales border to the shires of Flinders, McKinley and Richmond.
