OVERVIEW
In 2010-11, the estimate of cultural expenditure by the Queensland Government was $568.1m or 18% of the total estimate of state and territory government cultural expenditure. This was a 3% fall from $588.7m in 2009-10. Recurrent expenses accounted for 87% of Queensland Government cultural expenditure. The estimated per person expenditure by the Queensland Government was $127.80. (Tables 4 and 7)
In 2010-11, the estimate of expenditure of Queensland Government funds on Heritage activities declined 8% to $430.2m. The only Heritage category which increased was Art museums (up 9%). Expenditure in all other Heritage categories decreased, with the largest decrease (9%) being for Environmental heritage.
QLD GOVERNMENT HERITAGE EXPENDITURE
In 2010-11, the estimate of expenditure of Queensland Government funds for Arts activities increased by 14% to $137.9m. Decreases in a number of Arts categories were offset by a 68% increase in Other arts expenditure. Expenditure on Other performing arts fell 46% to $6.7m.
