KEY DATA

In each of the eight major aggregates presented, the Australian mining industry showed significant growth in 2006-07 when compared to 2005-06. Sales and service income increased by 17% and industry value added by 22%. The industry paid 21% more in wages and salaries than in 2005-06, and its employment rose by 7%.
