Importance versus needs met ratings for specific statistical assets
The NASR attempted to further explore and understand the nature of data gaps in the NASIS and what this means for its ability to inform the agricultural sector.

Stakeholders were asked to provide subjective ratings of how important existing statistical assets were for them. The ’Importance’ rating (I) was a rating for each statistical asset on a scale of:

    · Critical = 5

    · Important = 3

    · Useful = 1

The closer the average rating is to 5, the more critical the statistical asset was considered to be.

A comparative analysis was undertaken between the importance and needs met ratings reported by stakeholders for specific existing statistical assets. This analysis showed that the statistical assets described were, on average, either partly or mostly meeting the needs of stakeholders.
