Each chapter contains information about what data was collected in the survey, definitions used in the survey, comparability with previous Personal Safety Survey cycles and Women's Safety Survey, and contains important information that data users need to be aware of when interpreting the results of the survey. The survey content was split into compulsory content and voluntary content. The compulsory content covered the topics of: Household and Demographic characteristics (household, respondent and current partner (where applicable)) Ancestry and language (respondent and current partner (where applicable)) Education (respondent and current partner (where applicable)) Labour force (respondent and current partner (where applicable)) Income (household, respondent and current partner (where applicable)) Financial stress Social connectedness Health Disability General safety The voluntary content covered the topics of: Sexual harassment (lifetime) Violence - Prevalence (since the age of 15) Violence - Most recent incident (since the age of 15) Abuse before the age of 15 (Physical and Sexual) Witness violence before the age of 15 (between parent and partner) Partner violence (since the age of 15) – Current/Previous Partner (lived with) Partner emotional abuse (since the age of 15) – Current/Previous Partner (lived with) Stalking (since the age of 15) Only data from respondents who completed both the compulsory and voluntary content are retained on the final weighted file.
