TYPE OF HOME SECURITY MEASURES (Table 29)
In 2017–18, almost all Australian households (97% or 9.1 million) had at least one selected security measure installed.
The type of security measures installed varied depending on the dwelling type.
The most common security measures installed in houses or semi-detached houses were a door with a security screen (72%), a door with a deadlock (70%) and outside sensor lighting (62%).

The most common security measures installed in flats or apartments were a door with a deadlock (62%), a secure entry to the complex (56%) and a window with a keyed lock (51%).
