FACE-TO-FACE THREATENED ASSAULT
The face-to-face threatened assault victimisation rate was similar for persons living in a capital city (2.5%) and persons living in the balance of state/territory (2.7%). EXPERIENCE OF MULTIPLE VICTIMISATION (Table 9) Of all persons who experienced face-to-face threatened assault during the 2017-18 reference period:
A similar proportion of women (43% or 91,600) and men (49% or 139,300) who experienced face-to-face threatened assault experienced a single incident. WHETHER MOST RECENT INCIDENT WAS REPORTED TO POLICE (Table 15) Approximately two out of five (38%) persons who experienced face-to-face threatened assault had their most recent incident reported to police. An estimated 34% of men and 46% of women had the most recent incident reported to police. The most common reasons for not reporting their most recent incident to police was that they thought it was too trivial/unimportant (26% of men and 12% of women).
