Data from the 2016 Census about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples is expected to be provided through the same Census products used in 2011 -- QuickStats, Community Profiles, DataPacks and TableBuilder. The majority of the data will continue to be available free-of-charge on the ABS website.
Census of Population and Housing - Counts of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians (cat. no. 2075.0) contains counts of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population at the state/territory, capital city/balance of state and Indigenous geography levels.
Census of Population and Housing - Characteristics of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians (cat. no. 2076.0) contains a range of statistics on the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population including: population structure and distribution, mobility, household composition, language, education, work, income and housing. This information is published at the Australia level.
