The 2013 ESA List
The 2013 list of ESA for Australia was organised around three pillars: Economy, Environment and Society. The dimensions were not considered mutually exclusive, as statistics may be used to inform multiple pillars and dimensions, reflecting their ability to inform a range of policy domains and decision-making purposes. The publication Essential Statistical Assets (ESA) for Australia, 2013 (Cat. No. 1395.0) provides a summary of the 2013 list of ESA for Australia, and how the statistics inform each dimension and pillar of the organising framework. The ESA dimensions and pillars can also be found in Table 1 and the Revised 2013 ESA List in Appendix 2. A graphical representation of the ESA for Australia organising framework can be seen in Figure 1.
