The LGA of Sydney had a Census Night ratio of 116. The characteristics of the population are very symmetrical, in the "Christmas tree" shape of other high ratio capital city LGAs (Perth, Adelaide, and Melbourne). The Census Night ratios were: males, 117; females, 115; those aged under 20 years, 115; those aged between 20-29 years, 114; and for those over 30 years of age, 117.
