SHEEP Sheep numbers across Australia have fallen sharply, most notably in the last twenty years. From a high of 180 million in 1970, numbers have now dropped to 68 million in 2010. This trend appears across all states with numbers falling significantly after 1990. Source(s): Historical Selected Agriculture Commodities, by State (1861 to Present), (cat. no. 7124.0)
