SEX, AGE AND MARITAL STATUS The proportion of people experiencing credit card fraud was lower for people aged 15 to 24 years (2.0%) and people aged over 55 years (3.0%), compared to people aged 25 to 34 years (4.9%), 35 to 44 years (5.0%), and 45 to 54 years (4.3%). Source(s): In Focus: Crime and Justice Statistics Whilst over half (54.5%) of all credit card fraud victims were informed of the incident by an authority, this proportion varied across the age groups. Around a third (36.7%) of people aged 15 to 24 years were informed of the misuse of their credit card by an authority and this was lower than all other age groups. A larger proportion of married people experienced credit card fraud compared to unmarried people (4.5% compared to 2.6%). Victims that were married were also more likely to be informed of card misuse by an authority than unmarried victims (58.3% compared to 45.0%).
