Cattle (excluding calves):
In March quarter 2014, the number of cattle slaughtered (excluding calves) increased by 2% over the previous quarter, to a record 2.2 million.

Calves:
The number of calves slaughtered in March quarter 2014 rose by 5%, to 189,000 head.

Sheep:
The number of sheep slaughtered in March quarter 2014 increased by 1% over the previous quarter, to 2.6 million head.

Lambs:
Lamb slaughterings in March quarter 2014 increased slightly to a record 5.6 million.

Pigs:
Pig slaughterings in March quarter 2014 remained steady at 1.2 million.

Chickens:
Chicken slaughterings in March quarter 2014 remained steady at 145 million.
