Cattle (excluding calves):
In the December quarter 2012, the number of cattle slaughtered (excluding calves) increased by 2% to 1.9 million.

Calves:
The number of calves slaughtered in the December quarter 2012 decreased by 2% to 152 thousand when compared to the previous quarter.

Sheep:
The number of sheep slaughtered in the December quarter 2012 increased by 9% to 1.7 million when compared to the previous quarter.

Lambs:
Lamb slaughterings in the December quarter 2012 remained steady at 5.1 million.

Pigs:
Pig slaughterings in the December quarter 2012 remained steady at 1.2 million when compared to the previous quarter.

Chickens
Chicken slaughterings in the December quarter 2012 decreased by 1% to 139.4 million when compared to the previous quarter.
