| Broadacre crops | The ABS will collect information on the area and production of cereal crops, cotton and other major crops harvested during the 2015-16 financial year period. Crops collected in this topic are wheat, oats, barley, maize, canola, rice, sorghum, triticale, peanuts, sugar cane, cotton lint, other oilseeds, other pulses, all other cereals for grain or seed, and all other crops. |

| Fruit | The ABS will collect information on production of a key selection of fruit, as well as number of trees/area planted during the 2015-16 financial year period. Fruit commodities in this topic are grouped under grapes (includes the categories of: grapes for wine production, grapes for all other uses); citrus fruit (includes the categories of: mandarins, oranges, all other citrus fruit); pome fruit (includes the categories of: apples, pears, all other pome fruit); stone fruit (includes the categories of: cherries, nectarines, peaches, all other stone fruit); other orchard fruit (includes the categories of: avocadoes, mangoes, olives, all other orchard fruit); and other fruit (includes the categories of: bananas, pineapples, strawberries, all other fruit not elsewhere reported). |

| Hay and silage | The ABS will collect information on the total area and production of pasture and crops cut for hay and silage during the 2015-16 financial year period. Includes the categories of lucerne cut for hay; other pasture cut for hay; cereal cut for hay; other crops cut for hay; pasture, cereal, and other crops cut for silage. |

| Land use | The ABS will collect a breakdown of the total area of holding into a number of predominant land use categories. Categories included in this topic are land set aside for conservation/protection purposes; land mainly used for crops; land mainly used for grazing; land mainly used for forestry plantation; land mainly used for other agricultural purposes; and other areas not used for agricultural production. |

| Livestock | The ABS will collect information on the number of livestock on holding at the end of June 2016. Livestock collected under this topic include sheep and lambs (includes the categories of: breeding ewes, lambs marked, all other sheep); dairy cattle (includes the categories of: calves, heifers, cows in milk and dry, all other dairy cattle); meat cattle (includes the categories of: calves, cows and heifers, all other meat cattle); pigs (includes the categories of: breeding sows, all other pigs); poultry (includes the categories of: layers and pullets, meat chickens, all other poultry); hen egg production; and all other livestock. |

| Nurseries | The ABS will collect information on the area, both undercover and outdoors, of nurseries, cut flowers, and cultivated turf during the 2015-16 financial year period. |

| Nuts | The ABS will collect information on production of a selection of nuts (almonds, macadamias, all other nuts excluding peanuts which are covered under crops) as well as number of trees, both bearing and non-bearing age, during the 2015-16 financial year period. |

| Vegetables | The ABS will collect information on the area and production of a key selection of vegetables produced during the 2015-16 financial year period. The vegetables collected in this topic are carrots, mushrooms, onions, potatoes, tomatoes, lettuces, melons, capsicums, beans and all other vegetables. |

| Watering activity | The ABS will collect information on sources of water used for agricultural production by volume, area irrigated and volume of water applied by type of agricultural production, and irrigation expenditure during the 2015-16 financial year period. |
