In 2012, victims of assault were most likely to report that no weapon was used by the offender. This was consistent across all selected states and territories. The Northern Territory recorded the highest proportion of victims of assault where a weapon was used (40%), whilst NSW recorded the lowest proportion of victims of assault where a weapon was used (7%).
