PRIVATE AND PUBLIC SECTOR EARNINGS PRIVATE AND PUBLIC SECTOR EARNINGS In November 2013, those employed in the Public sector had higher Full-Time Adult Average Weekly Ordinary Time Earnings than their Private sector counterparts, at $1,538.70 and $1,410.50 respectively (a difference of $128.20). This difference was more pronounced in the All Employees Total Earnings series in November 2013; employees in the Public sector on average earned $208.20 dollars per week more than those employed in the Private sector.
In November 2013, the Full-Time Adult Male Average Weekly Ordinary Time Earnings were $1,646.90 in the Public sector, and $1,510.00 in the Private sector. The Full-Time Adult Female Average Weekly Ordinary Time Earnings in November 2013 were $1,432.30 in the Public sector, and $1,205.20 in the Private sector.
