VOLUME OF DATA DOWNLOADED
Internet Service Providers (ISPs) with more than 1,000 subscribers were asked to report the volume of data downloaded for the three months ended 31 December 2013.
The ability of ISPs to report the volume of data downloaded is variable. Data presented for these items should only be considered as an indicative measure of internet activity during the reference period and should be used with caution. The occurrence of special events may result in abnormally high downloads.

The overall volume of data downloaded in the three months ended 31 December 2013 increased by 31%, compared with the three months ended 30 June 2013, to 860,920 Terabytes.
Data downloaded by fixed-line broadband (823,421 Terabytes) accounted for 96% of all internet downloads in the three months ended 31 December 2013.
The volume of data downloaded by fixed-line broadband increased by a third in the three months to 31 December 2013 compared to the three months to 30 June 2013. An annual comparison of the volume of data downloaded by fixed line broadband shows a 56% increase.
Data downloaded using wireless broadband (other than via mobile handset) recorded a 37% increase compared to the three months ended 30 June 2013, to 37,426 Terabytes.
