SEX As at 30 June 2013, more than 80% of federal prisoners (of the selected states and territories) were male. More than 90% of the overall prisoner population (of the selected states and territories) were male. (Tables 14 and 37). For the federal parolee population (of the selected states and territories), the proportion of males ranged from 70% in Western Australia to 88% in Queensland.
