DATA ITEM LISTS
The Survey of Disability Ageing and Carers 2009 (SDAC) comprised a household questionnaire of over 1,800 questions and a health establishment form of 103 questions, which resulted in the generation of approximately 1,100 data items. Users intending to purchase either the CURF or TableBuilder should ensure that the data they require, and the level of detail they need, are available in these products.
CURF DATA
The SDAC Basic CURF contains 72,075 confidentialised respondent records from the survey. Subject to the limitations of the sample size and the data classifications used, it is possible to interrogate the CURF, produce tabulations and undertake statistical analyses to individual specifications.
A complete list of all data items included on the CURF is provided in the Excel spreadsheet (refer the Downloads tab). The data item spreadsheet has 15 worksheets;
- table of contents
- data items on the household level
- data items on the family level
- data items on the income unit level
- data items on the person level
- data items on the conditions level
- data items on the restrictions level
- data items on the specific activities level
- data items on the all recipient level
- data items on the broad activities level
- data items on the assistance providers level
- identifiers (available on all levels) and weights
- populations
- changes between SDAC 2003 and SDAC 2009 for all levels except person
- changes between SDAC 2003 and SDAC 2009 for person level.
The data item list provides information on whether the data item was available in the SDAC CURF 2003 and is coded to indicate any changes such as name change or change in categories. Users can then use the last two worksheets to examine the changes. The populations worksheet provides a code to all populations used in the derivations of the data items and each data item has a code associated with it to enable users to link between the two worksheets.
TABLEBUILDER
The SDAC TableBuilder file contains 73,632 confidentialised respondent records from the survey. Data items are generally available for cross tabulation using the TableBuilder, although some restrictions may apply.
A complete list of all data items included on the TableBuilder is provided in the Excel spreadsheet (refer the
Downloads tab). The data item spreadsheet has 12 main worksheets;
- table of contents
- data items on the household level
- data items on the family level
- data items on the income unit level
- contents for the person level (divided into 69 sub worksheets)
- data items on the conditions level
- data items on the restrictions level
- data items on the specific activities level
- data items on the broad activities level
- data items on the assistance providers level
- identifiers (available on all levels) and weights
- populations.
Each data item has a population reference which can be found in the
Population worksheet.
