AUSTRALIAN BUREAU OF STATISTICS (ABS)
NAME OF COLLECTION
Multiple Jobholding Survey
OVERVIEW
The Multiple Jobholding Survey collects information on the number and characteristics of employed persons who have more than one job. This survey was first conducted in November 1965, then every two years from August 1973 until August 1987, then in July 1991, August 1994, August 1997. The scope of the survey is all persons aged 15 years and over but restricted to persons who stated that they had more than one job in the reference week and were an employee in at least one of their jobs.
This survey collects a range of information about the employment characteristics of multiple job holders, in their main and second job, including status in employment, full-time/part-time status, occupation, industry, hours worked and weekly earnings. Data items contained within these topics are capable of being cross classified with Data Items Relevant to Migrants and Ethnicity.
This survey is conducted as part of the Monthly Population Survey, which comprises the Labour Force Survey and, in most months, a supplementary survey topic.
