Data are provided by the National Diabetes Services Scheme, administered by Diabetes Australia, and the Australasian Paediatric Endocrine Group who collect information about children with diabetes. SCOPE The NDR includes people who began using insulin for management of diabetes from 1 January 1999. These include people with type 1 diabetes and those using insulin to manage type 2, gestational and other forms of diabetes. DATA DETAIL Data items collected include:
GEOGRAPHIC DETAIL All states and territories. AVAILABILITY OF DATA AND PUBLICATIONS Annual incidence reports, other publications can be accessed via the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare web site. Aggregate, de-identified data may be available on request. Unit record data may be available for research purposes pending clearance by the researcher’s host ethics committee and the AIHW Ethics Committee. For further information see contact details below.
