2011 CENSUS: PREVIEW OUR PLANS
Late last year Census Products & Services held information sessions about the 2011 Census across Australia, including Canberra, Townsville, Melbourne, Perth, Darwin, Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney, Newcastle and Hobart.
This was a great opportunity to present our Information Paper Census of Population and Housing: Proposed Products and Services (cat. no. 2011.0), released 29 July 2010, and receive feedback from users of Census data. These information sessions were successful and received an enthusiastic response around proposed improvements to QuickStats and the provision of new products such as Tablebuilder Basic and Tablebuilder Pro.
Feedback from Census data users has been summarised in an information paper Census of Population and Housing: Outcomes from the 2011 Census Output Geography Discussion Paper (cat. no. 2911.0.55.003). This information paper explains the implementation plans of the Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS) for the 2011 Census data output.
Further information around the 2011 Census, including the presentation we have been sharing with users, and FAQs can be found on our blog. Samples of the new product suite improvement are also available from the ABS Betaworks site.
