THE STRUCTURE OF THE PRODUCT CLASSIFICATION The products in this classification are grouped into 26 Groups and 243 Classes. Each Group has a 2-digit code within the range of 01 to 26. The Classes have a 4-digit code, with the first two digits being the code of the Group to which the Class belongs. For example, Class 1602 ‘Sleeping bags’ belongs to Group 16 ‘Sports, physical recreation and camping equipment’.
An alphabetic listing of the names of products within the scope of the ACLC Product Classification is included in the Downloads tab of this publication. The Class to which a product belongs can be determined by referring to the alphabetic list.
Correspondence tables are included in the Downloads tab to illustrate how the ACLC Product Classification Classes correspond to the CPC (Version 2.0) Classes and vice versa. Where correspondence is partial, this is indicated in the table by ‘p’. Where no correspondence exists, this is indicated by an asterisk (*).
