GROUP 11 - MUSEUMS, ANTIQUES AND COLLECTABLES Group 11 Museums, antiques and collectables consists of units mainly engaged in the management of collections of heritage objects and artefacts, and the selling and restoration of antiques and collectables. It consists of the following classes:

Definition This class consists of units mainly engaged in the acquisition, collection management, conservation, interpretation, communication and exhibition of visual arts and crafts on the basis of their aesthetic and historic value. Visual arts and crafts include paintings, murals, drawings, cartoons, prints, photographic works of art, digital works of art, art installations, sculpture, ceramics, pottery, jewellery, woven or printed textile art, clothing and wearables, carvings, furniture, glass craft, metal craft and leather craft. Definition This class consists of units mainly engaged in the sale or resale (including by auction) or restoration of antique objects and collectables.
Units mainly engaged in: (a) retailing second hand books are included in Class 217 Literature retailing; (b) retailing second hand recorded music are included in Class 234 Recorded audio and video media retailing; (c) retailing contemporary arts and crafts are included in Class 243 Visual arts and crafts retailing; (d) providing art auction services for contemporary art are included in Class 243 Visual arts and crafts retailing; (e) providing picture framing services are included in Class 279 Arts n.e.c.; (f) providing services which repair, restore and tune contemporary musical instruments are included in Class 279 Arts n.e.c.; (g) providing pawnbroking services are out of scope of the classification; and (h) retailing general second hand goods, other than antiques, collectables, books or recorded music, are out of scope of the classification.
