Changes in this issue

Review of methods to derive employment ratios

The 2023-24 Tourism Satellite Account (TSA) included a comprehensive review of methods and data sources which revised the industry ratios used to derive tourism employment. Since revised ratios are only available from 2016-17, this release only includes data starting from that year.

Refer to the TSA Methodology for more information.

Tourism industry classification changes

The Air, water and other transport industry has been relabelled as Air, water and other passenger transport to better reflect the tourism aspect of this industry. Similarly, Road transport and transport equipment rental is now Road passenger transport and transport equipment rental.
