PURPOSE
Quantifies the size of the smaller winemakers. Establishes the scope and coverage of both the Wine and Spirit Production collection and the monthly Sales of Australian Wine by Winemakers collection.

Winemakers who crush 50 to 400 tonnes of fresh grapes in previous financial year.

An activity based collection of winemakers who crush 50 to 400 tonnes of fresh grapes per year. Used to help benchmark the Wine and Spirit Production and Sales of Australian Wine and Brandy collections and provide some idea of the contribution of these 'smaller' winemakers.

For the purposes of this collection, winemakers are those businesses that crush grapes, ferment wine, ie, take grape juice and turn it into wine. Winemakers that blend wine only are considered outside the scope for this collection.
