NSW LAND PARCEL TRIAL
The ABS Centre for Environment and Energy Statistics is trialling a new approach to collecting and presenting regional environmental and natural resource management statistics. The two trials are utilising geographical land parcel information to create survey populations which can be cost-effectively surveyed. Traditional ABS collection techniques obtain data for a business or a person, whereas the land parcel approach obtains land management data for a specific area of land. The data can then be collated to produce environmental statistics, including maps, for relatively small geographical areas.. Results from both trials should be available by the end of the year.
