INDIGENOUS SOCIAL SURVEY
The first Indigenous Social Survey (ISS) was conducted between August 2002 and April 2003. Information was collected by personal interview from approximately 9,000 Indigenous persons throughout Australia. This information covered a range of topics relating to the social, health and economic circumstances and cultural participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Summary results from the ISS are scheduled to be published at the end of April 2004. The state/territory specific tables and a Confidentialised Unit Record File are planned for release shortly after that date. The state/territory tables will be on the ABS website, while the CURF will be accessible via Remote Access Data Laboratory (RADL) arrangements.
