Selected demographic statistics for Statistical Local Areas within NSW are included in Demography, New South Wales, 2000, (Cat. no. 3311.1) to be released on 21 December. This publication provides a comprehensive demographic overview of New South Wales with tables and commentary on trends in population, births, deaths, marriages, divorces, and migration. Rebasing Australia's Demographic Estimates Using The 2001 Census Of Population And Housing is a Demography Working Paper (2001/6) available on this site. Following each census estimated resident population data for the period since the previous census is revised using the new data as the base. This paper describes changes to the method that was applied following the 1996 Census and describes the planned output from the 2001 Census rebasing cycle.
