POPULATION, POLICY AND AUSTRALIA'S DESTINY - APA CONFERENCE, 2006
The Australian Population Association is holding its 13th biennial conference in Adelaide from 5-8 December 2006. The theme for the conference is "Population, Policy and Australia's Destiny".
The conference is the showcase for demographers, population geographers, policy makers and planners to discuss contemporary issues relating to population studies.
Highlights will include the W.D. Borrie Lecture - to be given by Professor Ian Pool, Professor of Demography, University of Waikato - and plenary speakers on population and policy, local and regional population change, and transnationalism.
The conference is sponsored by the ABS and the Government of South Australia, Department of Trade and Economic Development (major sponsors), and Australian government, Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs (associate sponsor).
