COMMUNITY SERVICE ORGANISATIONS
Community service organisations in Australia spent $12.6 billion in the year to June 2000. At the end of June 2000, there were 9,287 employing organisations involved in the provision of community services in Australia, a 15% increase in the number of employing community services organisations at the end of June 1996. Community Services, Australia, 1999-2000 (Cat. no. 8696.0), released in July, contains summary data on this expenditure and on community service activity by the government and private sectors.
