It contains a range of time series demographic data going back, where possible, to the beginnings of European settlement in Australia. Statistics are included on population size and growth, population distribution, population age-sex structure, births, deaths, migration, marriages and divorces. Population by Age and Sex, New South Wales, 30 June 2000 (Cat. no. 3235.1), released on 29 June, contains the estimated residential population by age (in five-year age groups) and sex for each Statistical Local Area, Statistical Subdivision and Statistical Division in NSW, at 30 June. This will be the last hard copy edition of this publication. In future, data for each State and Territory and Australia will be placed on AusStats.
