REGIONAL WAGE AND SALARY EARNER STATISTICS, AUSTRALIA
Regional Wage and Salary Earner Statistics, Australia (cat. no. 5673.0.55.001), released on 9 March, contains selected data on the characteristics of wage and salary earners in the Statistical Local Areas (SLAs) with the highest average income from wages and salaries in 2003-04 for each state and territory.
The estimates of the number of wage and salary earners and their characteristics, including age, sex, occupation and income, have been compiled from the Australian Taxation Office's (ATO) Individual Income Tax Return Database and are part of the Australian Bureau of Statistics' (ABS) program to increase the range of regional data available to users of regional statistics, particularly through the use of administrative information from other government agencies.
Data for all SLAs are available in Regional Wage and Salary Earner Statistics, Australia - Data Cubes (cat. no. 5673.0.55.003).
