NATIONAL INFORMATION AND REFERRAL SERVICE
The National Information and Referral Service is a phone information service operated by the ABS. It is staffed by trained consultants, at the ABS' national contact centre. They can be reached on a toll free number from anywhere in Australia between 8:30am and 5:00pm weekdays. When you call, our consultants can work with you to satisfy your information needs. Within a 5 minute time frame, NIRS is able to provide a range of free current published data over the telephone, or refer you to other options.
