AUSTRALIAN SOCIAL TRENDS
Australian Social Trends, 2000 (Cat. no. 4102.0) was released in July. It presents information on contemporary social issues and areas of public policy concern. The leading article highlights changes in social conditions since the beginning of the 20th century. Also featured are disadvantage in rural and regional Australia and the housing and other social conditions of the Indigenous population. Each of the 7 chapters include social indicator summary tables that show how aspects of social well-being change over time and how circumstances differ between States.
