LAND MANAGEMENT AND SALINITY SURVEY 2002
The Land Management and Salinity Survey 2002 is being conducted for the first time by the ABS. This survey is linked to the 2001 Agricultural Census, which included two questions on salinity, and will collect more detailed information on salinity and salinity management. Information will be collected on activities already undertaken by farmers to manage or prevent salinity and the factors that influence land management decisions on farms. The survey has the support of a range of Commonwealth and State/Territory government agencies as well as the Australian Local Government Association. Data will be produced at the national, state and territory, and regional levels (National Action Plan regions, of which there are 7 either wholly or partly in NSW).
