MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY STATISTICS
Manufacturing Industry, Australia, Preliminary, 2000–01 (Cat. no. 8201.0) was released on 27 March 2002. It contains the first results from the 2000–01 survey of management units and provides information on employment, sales and service income, wages and salaries and industry value added data for NSW and other States and Territories. While establishment data are no longer available, the new arrangements provide a substantial improvement in the quality of management unit data. Final State/Territory results will be published in Manufacturing Industry, Australia, 2000-01 (Cat. no. 8221.0), expected to be released on 25 September 2002. No State publications will be produced for 2000-01, however State publications will be released in Manufacturing Census years with the next being scheduled for the 2001-02 reference year.
