INVOLVEMENT IN ORGANISED SPORT
Involvement in Organised Sport and Physical Activity, Australia, April 2004 (cat. no. 6285.0) was released on 8 February 2005 and contains information for NSW. The publication presents information on the number and demographic characteristics of people involved in paid or unpaid work as players, coaches, referees, scorers, timekeepers, medical support personnel, committee members or in other support roles for organised sport and physical activity. Such work is often seasonal, receives low or no pay, and is done as a second or third job or as voluntary work. The publication includes information on the extent to which this work is supporting junior or school sport and highlights the different levels of involvement between the capital cities and regional areas in each state.
