MEASURES OF AUSTRALIA'S PROGRESS
The second issue of Measures of Australia's Progress (cat. no. 1370.0) is due for release on 21 April 2004. Described by the media when its first issue was released as 'about as close as any statistician can get to the meaning of life', this publication is designed as a national summary of progress in Australia across the environmental, social and economic areas of life. This issue will contain a set of headline indicators on aspects of health, education, employment, income, crime, the environment, along with many other topics. An information session on this publication will be held in Sydney on Tuesday 4 May 2004.
