BUSINESS LONGITUDINAL DATABASE AND SMALL BUSINESS USER REVIEW
The ABS is developing a Business Longitudinal Database (BLD) and undertaking a Small Business User Review. The Australian Business Register (ABR), as well as a range of ABS and administrative by-product data, are being used in the development of the BLD. The Australian Business Number (ABN) will provide the basis for linking the various data sources. The purpose of the Small Business User Review is to understand existing and emerging data requirements for statistics relating to the small business sector. Information gathered in this review will contribute to the development of an Information Development Plan for business demographic statistics that meets the needs of key stakeholders. The ABS will be conducting seminars with stakeholders in Sydney during October 2003, for both the BLD and Small Business User Review. Details will be advertised in the press closer to the date.
