DISABILITY STATISTICS
The paper Accounting for Change in Disability and Severe Restriction, 1981–1998 is now available on the ABS web site, www.abs.gov.au, under Working Papers in the menu. It provides an overview of disability across the surveys, by age and particular restricting impairment; then focuses on the population with severe restriction, in particular analysing reasons for the increase in this population in the 1998 Survey of Disability, Ageing and Carers.
