HOUSING AND INFRASTRUCTURE IN ABORIGINAL AND TORRES STRAIT ISLANDER COMMUNITIES
Housing and Infrastructure in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities, 2001 (Cat. no. 4710.0) is expected to be released on 30 April. It will provide data on the current housing stock and management practices and financial arrangements of Indigenous organisations that provide housing to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. It will also include data on housing and related infrastructure such as water, electricity, sewerage, drainage and solid waste disposal, as well as other facilities available in discrete Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities such as transport, communication, education, sport and health services.
It will include time series information with data from the previous (1999) survey and maps showing the distribution of Indigenous housing organisations and discrete communities across Australia. Further information from Cathy Williams on (02) 6252 7996, email cathy.williams@abs.gov.au
